Disclaimer: This may be long and may be somewhat dramatic, I make my apologies now.
Yesterday morning not long after she got up, Lillie declared she wanted a haircut. We talked about it some and moved on. Grandma came by not long before lunch time and Lillie mentioned again that she wanted a haircut. Grandma looked at her hair and we discussed it again and decided to wait till later.
Yesterday afternoon I took Becca outside and took the pictures in the post below. Lillie went with me. I took some pictures and then Becca decided to spit up on her dress. Spit up is putting it mildly, it was a lot! So I brought her in and was changing her clothes, I heard Lillie in the kitchen. As I was walking to the kitchen I heard her say "Haircut", my heart started racing and I looked, she had scissors in one hand and there was a little hair on the floor. Well I went into shock, I was speechless and could not move. The whole side of her head was missing her gorgeous curls! She basically grabbed the section of hair above her ear and clipped it off.
Lillie got in trouble and was escorted to her room. I just wanted to cry, and a few tears did come. Last night we took her to Grandmas and she worked on it some and did a good job for what she had to work with. Most of Lillie's curls were cut to try and make it less obvious. But it was decided to today that she needs professional help. So she has appointment in the morning and I am hoping that we see more improvement.
Tonight I went looking for our measuring tape, I opened the drawer where I keep it, and about jumped. There laying on top was a wad of those precious curls. The child had hid them from me. (Because you know I might not notice that they were missing, Yeah right!)
My love for Lillie has not changed in all of this. The fact that her curls are gone though, makes me so sad. All my life i have wanted curls and now I was blessed with a child that had them. She is still a beautiful child but it will be a while before I look at her and don't miss that long curly hair!
I will post pictures tomorrow after Miss Laura works on it. By the way, Lillie is fine, she thinks her hair is pretty. She is very excited to be getting 2 haircuts in one week. When I ask her why she did it, she replies, " I needed a haircut so my hair not be long anymore." She also walks around saying, " No more pigtails or ponytails!" I think the little rascal is proud of herself.
